[ She smiles down at their hands laced up so easily. It may seem strange to others, but Kyrie likes to think regardless to which hand she holds, they fit hers perfectly. She gives his hand a little squeeze as she listened to him talk, a thoughtful frown forming on her face.

She's always tried to make him feel safe, but she knows it's different. The need, the want, to be accepted by your family, a family that until recently he didn't even realize he had. While her feelings for him were strong, she knew that... this was different. She clears her throat a little, trying to make her voice sound a little like Dante's but that was pretty impossible.]

Nero is a punk with some demonic ability. He's a generally good kid though. Even if he is a punk. [ She paused with a small smile on her face. ]

Those words to me... they don't sound like they're coming from someone who doesn't care. They sound... rather affectionate to me.

[ Alright so that... is unexpected? And it sure shows with the way he sort of STARES at her in a mix of confusion, surprise, and perhaps a touch of amusement. ]

Please don't ever do that again.

[ But regardless, he laughs a little, coming to pinch the bridge of his nose with his other hand. ]

So I guess this means you don't think I should write him off then. [ A pause, he looks to her. ] Take his annoyingly frustrating ways as a means of looking out for me?

[ She covered her mouth with her free hand to hide her amusement. She thought it might get some kind of reaction out of Nero, so she was rather pleased with the reaction she did get. It was almost as if he thought she had went mad or something which just made her more amused.

She quieted down her little giggles, giving Nero a reassuring squeeze of his hand.]

I think... you'll feel happier... maybe even a bit lighter so to speak if... you give him a chance. He's a bit eccentric, but... he has a good heart inside and you might find it's just what your heart has been looking for.

[ Truth be told, Kyrie is about the only person who is capable of reassuring him like this. Sure Dante gets on his nerves to the point where he wants to pull his own hair out and sure he tells such stupid jokes that practically make his eyes roll out of their sockets. But he's helped him out of a few jams, allowed him to keep the sword his brother wielded, even came to ask for his name at one point. He owed him, he knew that, even if Dante would shrug it off and claim such a thing to not matter.

Because family helps family... right?

Squeezing her hand back a little, Nero sighs and looks up to Kyrie. ]

I can't promise I'm not gonna wanna deck him every now and then. You know that, right?

[ But even as he mutters the warning, it's said with a sort of affection in it and perhaps the hint of a smile. ]

[ She didn't mean to, but she couldn't hold back her amusement and snorted a little. She tries to cover her face with her free hand, embarrassment clearly showing on her face. Perhaps it was the way Nero said it, but it just had her amused. ]

I think... he would worry about your health if you didn't want to.

[ Well, she has a point. If Nero were suddenly uncharacteristically nice to him, Dante might worry he was possessed or something. So, to that, Nero laughs a little softly under his breath for a second or two. ]

Yeah, guess you're right.

[ It's with teeth dragging over his bottom lip that he looks to Kyrie again, blue fingers still laced with soft skin. ]

Thanks for... you know... all this.

[ For being here with him, for listening, for being her. ]

[ She felt her heart being touched in such a warm way when she heard that short little laugh of his. She slowly let her free hand drop to her side and she smiled at Nero. It made her happy to see this, to see Nero looking less tense. It doesn't solve everything, and she knows that, but... maybe if the two of them grew closer, it would help Nero, and that's all she could ask for. ]

[ She was tempted to tease him with a "Thanks for what? We were just going for a walk, remember?" but she kept that to herself for now. Instead she gives his hand another squeeze. ]

I'm always here... if you want company... or a couple of ears to listen.

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky for that.

[ It's said with a bit of a smile, Nero giving her own hand a squeeze back.

Truthfully, before coming out here to meet Kyrie on this walk, he hadn't felt the greatest. Frustrated, confused, annoyed, and unsure of what to think or do (nevermind feel), the last couple of days have had the demon hunter grouchy and distracted and while he hadn't taken his mood out on Kyrie, it was obvious something had been bothering him. So obvious, in fact, that she had noticed... and maybe that was a good thing, lest he bottle it all up and go over to yell at Dante some more.

Of course, there's still the issue of it all, the fact that he may now know who his blood father is and have a decently frustrating relative here with him who he's fought both against and alongside in a manner of speaking. But to know more about this man, about Vergil and who he was aside from the warnings given to him by ~~his uncle~~ Dante... those are still things he's not so sure about and still frustrates him deep on the inside.

For now, he looks to Kyrie with eyes of blue, strands of hair falling in front of his face which he flicks away effortlessly. ]

And I hope you know the same goes for me with you.

I only have one problem right now myself... and that is getting my dear sweet Nero to use the bed on occasion.

[ She squeezes his hand and tilts her head to give him a tiny playful smile. She mostly said it to ease his worry. While being kidnapped to this strange place is a bit concerning, she's had Nero with her ever since. And honestly as long as Nero is with her and safe, she doesn't have any complaints worth noting.

She knows this feeling from Nero is long from being over, but she hopes after this talk... he'll know he can keep coming back to tell her whatever it is on his mind.
And a big part part of her hopes Dante helps ease that part of Nero's heart that she isn't able to.]

[ She's never gonna let up on him for that, is she? Giving a rather dramatic sigh, Nero straightens up a bit and cocks his head to the side as he looks to Kyrie with a look. A look that says only you could get me to give in. ]

Tell ya what. I'll just get us a bigger bed then.

[ To which... he realizes... sharing bed... oh... oh. That... that sure slipped out just now, didn't it? Yeah. Definitely did and Nero sort of has his eyes widen for a fleeting two point five seconds before he clears his throat a little and looks away.

Nice. ]

I mean... you know... if you... wanted to, I don't know, maybe... find some place outside of the shared living hell. Or something. Yeah.

[ Nailed it? ]

[ Kyrie's eyes go wide themselves as she gives Nero a look of surprise. It wasn't a surprised look of disgust or anything. In fact the longer she stared the redder her face became and the bigger her smile started to grow. ]

A-are... you saying you would like... to get a bigger place... with me?

[ Again, Nero clears his throat and allows himself to lean back against the bench, leg still stretched out while his free hand comes up to rub at the back of his neck. ]

I mean... it's not like we haven't really lived together before. So... I figured... might as well, right?

[ Good save? Maybe? ]

[ Hopefully he doesn't mind her pulling her hand away, because as soon as she does she quickly moves in to wrap her arms around his neck laughing. ]

Yes! I would absolutely love to, Nero!

[ Caught off guard? Maybe just a little. But, he doesn't mind and it shows in the way which he smiles a little sheepishly to himself at her enthusiasm, let alone agreeing to his idea. Or, well, slip up. ]

I'd say we'll see if you still feel that way after a couple weeks or so but it's not like you're not familiar with sharing the same space as me.

[ But, it's reassuring to know that even within this world where she's capable of going off on her own should she want, she still wishes to remain by him. ]

Guess it's settled then.

I... I don't really care where it is, or how large or small it is. As long as it's with you, I'll be happy.

[ Though she wouldn't mind a kitchen, so she could make them proper meals. ]

[ He will definitely make sure the place has a kitchen.

However, with having come to that agreement of finding a place together, Nero tilts his head back some and glances over in the direction of the apartments which they had met out front of earlier. ]

What about those?

[ He suggests with a nod of his head. ]

It's got this park across from them, right? Pretty central in the main city, too.

[ Truthfully, he had been considering Everglade for himself prior to Kyrie's arrival but with learning about their being a curfew for the city and how things are liable to attack those who are still out after it... he's not exactly willing to subject Kyrie to that, even if she would insist that she would be fine. ]

[ Kyrie tilts her head a little to follow where Nero was gesturing to. That's right, she had been waiting outside of these apartments hadn't she. They did look rather pleasant, and it was outside this lovely looking park too. That might be fun...! Oh but... is this the kind of place Nero would want to live?

Kyrie frowned thoughtfully as her head moved to rest on his shoulder. ]

I wonder how expensive they are... [ a pause. ] and would you like it?

[ With her head on his shoulder, Nero smiles a little to himself and allows his gaze to drop down to their laced fingers. It's still strange to think of them as having been kidnapped to this world and yet, at the same time, it's almost a sort of... freedom from everything back home? Of course, that could all replicate itself here rather suddenly and quickly, he's not about to fool himself of that. But the what if of such a thing is sort of... nice. ]

As long as it's got the necessities it doesn't really matter to me.

[ Luxury is not all that high on Nero's personal priority list. ]

As for expense, we could combine what red bills we have on us at the moment and then once jobs are done, it should be good to go.

That... sounds like a good idea.

[ She gives his hand a tiny squeeze as a warm smile spread across her lips. ]

If we combine our bills together... it'll really be a place of our own...!

[ The thought of that is something that had been starting to develop back home after everything with Dante and The Order. But here? Here it seems to be actually happening and, in fact, needs to happen lest they end up on the street somewhere and Nero would never let that happen to Kyrie. ]

Yeah, it would be.

[ Hearing Kyrie happy is all that Nero has ever really wanted for her- that and her safety, of course. And while Credo or her parents may not be here or part of the living anymore... at least they have each other.

And Dante.

Maybe. ]

[ She gives his hand another gentle squeeze as her head continued to rest on his shoulder. Maybe she was being silly, but just talking about this made her heart feel all fluttery. She felt like everything was going to be okay, like really be okay. She was here with Nero and everything felt the same. ]

I'm glad... that you even want to... s-stay with me that is.

[ Looking down to her, fingers come to brush some of her hair out of her face, an act done without so much as a second thought before he realizes what he's doing and he lets his hand slip away. ]

Why wouldn't I?

[ It's asked both softly and curiously but perhaps also with a touch of amusement to it. ]

Who else is gonna put up with me?

[ She laughs at that and lightly nudges him playfully. ]

Oh hush, you. It's not putting up with you. You're an absolute catch as they say.... I'm just lucky enough to reel you in...

[ She laughs a little more, her cheeks heating up. Talking like this out loud was a little embarrassing. ]

[ She's not the only one who suddenly feels a little flushed in the face. Cue the awkward scratching of his nose? ]

A catch, huh?

[ He has to laugh a little under his breath, tugging his bottom lip between his teeth for a hot second. ]

I dunno about that. Think you're just tryna be nice.

[ A beat. ]

You know, so I agree on whatever place you want to live in.

[ That gets another little laugh out of her. It was nice that, even though they were in this strange place... and strange things have happened, they can still sit around and be a bit playful. It really makes Kyrie's day to know this.]

How did you see through such a clever disguse, Nero?
